Print out these instructions since you will not have access to the internet during the whole procedure.
Get a copy of winsockxpfix.exe before you do anything. This is just a safety item in case you can't get on the internet afterwards. You don't run it until afterwards and then only if you can't get back on the internet. You just run it and things should work OK after it reboots your system.
Also download and install ccleaner.exe from http://www.ccleaner.com. Don't let it clean anything yet.
We also need to uninstall Spybot S&D or at least keep it from running until we are done. You can either use Start Control Panel Add/Remove Software to remove it completely which will probably mean you will need to redownload it to reinstall it or easier would be to run HijackThis and check/Fix Checked the two entries:
Start then right click on My Computer and press Manage. In the new window Service and Applications then Services. In the right pane scroll down and find the Task Scheduler Service. Double click on it and and then set the Start Type to Disabled. Then OK. We will restore this later.
Now shutdown and reboot into Safe Mode by tapping the F8 key when you see the PC maker's logo. Keep tapping until it tells you it is going to Safe Mode or you see the Safe Mode menu. Select the top option.
Run HijackThis and just do a Scan only. Check then Fix Checked the following:
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = file://C:\WINDOWS\System32\SearchBar.htm R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - _{D6DFF6D8-B94B-4720-B730-1C38C7065C3B} - (no file) R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - _{707E6F76-9FFB-4920-A976-EA101271BC25} - (no file) O2 - BHO: (no name) - {12A43422-C417-23E6-8057-165505A47D4D} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\hnixybpp.dll (file missing) O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {2CDE1A7D-A478-4291-BF31-E1B4C16F92EB} - (no file) O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {BDF6CE3D-F5C5-4462-9814-3C8EAC330CA8} - (no file) O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [NDplDeamon] nstask32.exe O9 - Extra button: (no name) - {120E090D-9136-4b78-8258-F0B44B4BD2AC} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\ms.exe (file missing) O9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: MaxSpeed - {120E090D-9136-4b78-8258-F0B44B4BD2AC} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\ms.exe (file missing)
Wait 60 seconds and repeat the scan. Did any of the above come back? IF so leave HijackThis up and right click on the clock and select Task Manager. Then Processes. Find Explorer.exe, right click on it and select End Process. The desktop will disappear but HijackThis should still be there. IF you don't see it switch to Applications in Task Manager and highlight it there then press Switch To or just double click on it. Check and Fix Checked the above again. Restart Explorer by Task Manager, File, New Task(Run), explorer.exe, OK.
Now run ccleaner.exe. On the first page, uncheck everything but the two lines that have the word Temporary in them then Run Cleaner.
Reboot into normal mode and run another HijackThis log and REPLY to this thread and paste the new log. Let's see how we did.
Don't reinstall or restore Spybot until we are sure you are clean. It's a good program but sometimes it likes to maintain the staus quo and will replace stuff that we delete.
Everything worked except I didn't see the first three entries you wanted me to delete in safe mode when I ran Hijackthis. I noticed they are on this log. Everything else looks like it was deleted. What next? Thanks for your help......
