Hey BAA,

Copy the following to a notepad for reference

Run HiJackThis and click " Scan", then check(tick) the following, if present:

R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - ~CFBFAE00-17A6-11D0-99CB-00C04FD64497} - (no file)

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {4B5F2E08-6F39-479a-B547-B2026E4C7EDF} - (no file)

O4 - Startup: PowerReg Scheduler V3.exe

O6 - HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Control Panel present
... (Unless you've set these with a anti-spyware program like SpyBot's Immunize feature, have HiJackThis fix this.)

Now, with all windows closed except HiJackThis, click " Fix checked".

Locate and delete the following item(s), if present. Make sure your able to view system and hidden files/ folders see here - http://www.xtra.co.nz/help/0,,4155-1916458,00.html

Search for...

V3.exe (look in the system32 folder or windows folder)

...using " Start | Search...".
-
Note that some of these file(s) may or may not be present. If present, and cannot be deleted because they're ' in use', try deleting them from Safe Mode see here - http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2001052409420406?OpenDocument&src=sec_doc_nam>Safe

Post back a new log, and let me know how everything goes.

Hi Bertha2,

I've fixed the suggested items as well as (2) additional 04 Kodak entries because I previously removed Kodak software through Add/Remove Programs but (2) Kodak listings still appeared in startup.  Is there any Kodak clean-up necessary through Start - Search?    The only evidence of v3.exe is in HiJack This\backup;  I enabled hidden files and folders and operating system files prior to search.

Here's the latest log:

Hey B A A,

Your Log looks Clean well done

Install these for safer surfing:

http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html Update when downloaded, SpywareBlaster prevents the installation of ActiveX-based spyware, adware, browser hijackers, dialers, and other potentially unwanted pests. Blocks spyware/tracking cookies in Internet Explorer and Mozilla/Firefox. Restricts the actions of potentially dangerous sites in InternetExplorer.

http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareguard.html  Update when downloaded.
SpywareGuard provides a real-time protection solution against spyware that is a great addition to SpywareBlaster's protection method.

https://netfiles.uiuc.edu/ehowes/www/resource.htm
IE-SPYAD puts over 5000 sites in your restricted zone so you'll be protected when you visit innocent-looking sites, that aren't actually innocent at all.
