How to Remove NEWDOT~2

Hi, I can't get rid of NEWDOT~2 in my System config Utility under the Startup Tab. Does anyone know where it came from or how to remove it and to keep it removed?
Please Help,
~Paul

Welcome to DCF

Go Here And download HijackThis

Save it in a convenient permanent folder such as C:\\HJT\\,

Create a folder on the C: drive called C:\HJT.
You can do this by going to My Computer (Windows key+e) then double click on C:
then right click and select New then Folder and name it HJT.

Then repost your log double click HijackThis.exe, and hit "Scan". When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log" button. Press that, save the log, Ctrl-A to Select All, and copy its contents as a reply to this thread

Good job

Please download LSP-Fix from the following link and save it to  your Desktop. Do not use this yet, we may not need it. See ***note below.
LSP-Fix Download Link

Next Please open Add/Remove programs (Click Start->>Control Panel->>Add/Remove Programs) and uninstall New.Net or NewDotNet. If it is not listed, follow these instructions:
  • From a computer that has Internet access, click on NewDotNet Removal
  • If you get "the page cannot be displayed" when clicking on the removal link. You may have winhelp's mvps hosts file installed, as www.newdotnet.com is a blocked site
  • Download and save uninstall6_90.exe (New.Net/Support/Uninstall exe file) to the Desktop.
  • Go to the Desktop and double-click on uninstall6_90.exe
  • Click on the OK button.
  • After removal, reboot.

***Note: If you cannot connect to the Internet after removing New.net, please run the LSP-Fix program I had you download earlier, and click on the finish button. Reboot and you should be able to get back on

Once done, Reboot your PC->>Rerun Hijackthis and post a fresh log
