I picked up a virus that is now running my computer. I keep getting pop-ups about the virus naming it worm.win32.netbooster. I also cannot find my outlook express and many items are missing from my start menu, including my control panel. I found your site and installed hijack this and ran a scan, please help me get my computer back! Here is my log:

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here or Here

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.
  • Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
Once the program has loaded, select " Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.(See Extra Note)
The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
Copy&Paste the entire report in your next reply.

Extra Note:
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts, click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process,if asked to restart the computer, please do so immediatly.

I did as you advised, and I think I got my computer back! I'll have to do some investigating, but no pop ups yet and I can now get into my programs. Thank you so much, is there anything else I should do now? I run Trend Micro PC-cillin for an anti-virus, it picked up the virus but was not able to remove it. Should I use something else? Thanks again! Here is my log from MBAM:

You are most welcome.

We still have a little work to do.

1. Please download the Killbox.
  • 1)Save it to the desktop
    2) Rt Click->>Extract all->.Extract it to your Desktop
    3) Double Click Killbox.exe to run it
4)Select " Delete on Reboot", and then select "All files".
    5) Copy the file names below to the clipboard by highlighting them and pressing Control-C:

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\ddcCRijH.dll

    6) Return to Killbox, go to the File menu, and choose " Paste from Clipboard".
    7) Click the red-and-white " Delete File" button.  Click " Yes" at the Delete on Reboot prompt.

1. Rerun Hijackthis (scan only) and place checks beside the following entries
  • O2 - BHO: (no name) - {449D0D70-0D82-4255-81FE-215E78574478} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\ddcCRijH.dll

Close all other open windows except Hijackthis and Select " Fix checked"

Close Hijackthis ->> Reboot your PC ->> Rerun Hijackthis and post a fresh Hijackthis log
