Hi Linda, I would just like to make sure that you updated Ad-aware and Spybot S & D before you ran them? If not, would you do so and run them again, with a reboot between the programs. Then using the information at this link: http://russelltexas.com/spywareinfo/createhjtfolder.htm create a folder on your C drive following the instructions. Once you have HijackThis safely in its own folder, then run another HJT log. With all other browser windows closed except the one you are working in, have HJT fix these items:
Then reboot your computer, and post a fresh log keeping it in the same thread. One of the resident experts will be along as soon as possible with additional instructions. Thanks, pskelley
Hi pskelley (and others), I followed the directions exactly and here is the new HJT log. I am still having the same problems however. Thanks! Linda

Hi Texruss, I went thru the instructions and completed the HJT log with the deletes as noted. I am now having problems with my Logitech cordless mouse/keyboard--they don't work at all. I checked the batteries and they are fine, tried to plug into different USB ports, but received a message that a file is missing. I am not an expert, but don't think it is related to my other actions since I was able to reboot, not in safe mode and do some non-internet work. I am at work and will take my keyboard home to see if I can get it fixed. I'll repost as soon as I get the problem fixed.
Hi again, I tried to re-install the drivers, but the screen went black, everything re-appeared larger than it actually is, then a system error message appeared to reboot. Whenever I tried to move the USB receiver to a different connection or install drivers, I received an error message that the USB receiver drivers could not be installed. I spoke with Dell tech support last night, they are sending a new keyboard, mouse and USB receiver. I will post again once I am back up and running.
Hi Texruss, I finished all of your instructions. I couldn't delete some of the items because they weren't listed. I am still having the same problem, not being able to open links in web pages, when I try to open Netscape, the window flashes but doesn't open. Here's my latest HJT log. I really appreciate your help and time. Thank you. Linda

With no other windows open except for Hijackthis, click on fix checked button.
Reboot to SAFE MODE and Show HIDDEN FILES and folders (do both FAQs below)
FAQ 8 and 9 on this page: http://www.russelltexas.com/spywareinfo/faqhijackthis.htm
Open Windows Explorer: type the word explorer at Start/Run box and click OK:
Drill on down and delete the following files and/or folders:
C:\Program Files\MyWay folder
C:\Program Files\Orbit folder
C:\WINDOWS\wupdt.exe file
Exit Explorer. Reboot in normal mode Windows and run Disk Cleaner: type cleanmgr at Start/Run. Scan all hard drives and check all categories at the end and click OK.
Browse a bit, reset a home page, reboot, and then run a fresh HJT log and post here.

Thanks so much for your time and expertise.
Regards,
Linda

Hi again, I tried to re-install the drivers, but the screen went black, everything re-appeared larger than it actually is, then a system error message appeared to reboot. Whenever I tried to move the USB receiver to a different connection or install drivers, I received an error message that the USB receiver drivers could not be installed. I spoke with Dell tech support last night, they are sending a new keyboard, mouse and USB receiver. I will post again once I am back up and running.
Thank you for your patience.

OK...hope they ship fast (they usually do). BTW...a backup regular PS/2 keyboard and USB optical mouse should run less than $30 total.

Thank you. Linda

sorry...Netscape was an old friend to me...now it rapidly just becoming old in memory. *;-)
Edit: On second thought I think that's legitimate and won't help removing.
Try fixing this line in Hijackthis:
N3 - Netscape 7: user_pref("browser.search.defaultengine", "engine://C%3A%5CPROGRA%7E1%5CNetscape%5CNetscape%5Csearchplugins%5CSBWeb_01.src"); (C:\Documents and Settings\LGH\Application Data\Mozilla\Profiles\default\aaudzrws.slt\prefs.js)
I would also suggest you read the advice for Kontiki and Backweb:
