Internet Problems

Hi im new to the forum and im not really sure if this is the right place to post this but ill post it and allow the gms to move it..

 

My problems is my laptop

 

I have a Intel Pentium 4, Mobile CPU 1.60Ghz,256 mb of RAm.

 

My problem is the my internet and when i connect. I have a dial up and use netzero. So i connected to the internet and got an error mssg that said..The Netzero software cannot connect to the Netzero Network. When i connect, it dials the number and says "Logging In...." Then it starts to dail a backup number. I thought it was my modem but i called dell and they said there is nothing wrong with my modem. And it was a software Problem. Please help me, because i cant pay for the help that i need.

 

 This error started today, i realize my computer was slower then usually so i decided to download the Windows SP 2 that was recently realesed. Then i ran the free software Ad-Aware Se Personal to check for any virus or anything that might be slowing down my internet. I restarted my laptop. Started connecting and my problems started.
