Thanks heeps! I've just have to figure out which game we're going to play next! He want's Spongebob - I can't keep from falling off the platforms ... :smileymad:
Yes, this is an extremely difficult board to work at times....
Not because of the problems, heck, many who posted here had no idea what had happened to their systems, others just needed an extra voice speaking on their behalf, but when a few are allowed to interfere with the help that's being given, it's just a matter of time before all a responders resources are geared for self-defense, mistakes will increase, and nothing gets really get's done - and a person get's exhausted.
I can understand now what happened with the other responders, many of whom still help me today. But, I stuck it out for those who really didn't have anyone else at the time, and man did I learn alot.

Heck, on a ligher side, if this were a real job, i'd almost think someone had it in for responders, or at least out to get my job ... :)
"A candle hid under a bed benefits no-one, except it be put on a candle stick, that anyone who enters may see by that light."
And a well deserved vacation it is too. You persevered when so many others
with the ability left "for greener pastures." I don't wish to open up any old
debates, but I salute your willingness to help. Wish I had the time to help
out. You (and the few others) are to be congratulated for your generous
contributions. I'm sure I speak for many of the members here.
Mike: Your efforts here are greatly appreciated. You must have a bad case of sore tailbone from so many hours at the keyboard. I have not a problem except getting Adware CDT from some where, but it seemed easy to get rid of. I have learned a lot from just reading the threads.
Sorry about the detractors that just made your job harder. Maybe the board manager or moderators might get to the point of restricting the board to responders who are trained and know what they are doing, or have trained Dell staff or moderators to do the same. Only one person should be working on a particular thread at time...by that I mean analyzing the logs.
Hope you can make a return after a time. Enjoy the time with your family and have a good 2005. :smileywink:
Man my eyesockets feel like roughly sanded wood at times; I think there still there ... :) That's ok, it's nowhere near your fault - i'm just surprised with what's been allowed to transpire, since it makes helping people who come to this forum increasingly difficult.
To sum of these last few days...
I felt like that guy in "Hackers" who was trying to guard the Gibson .... :smileyvery-happy:
MIke- You have done a great job and you will be rewarded in the future in ways you probably can't guess yet. As you have discovered at the very least you have become a computer god in the eyes of your friends and relatives. *;-)
Yes, there are issues with this board, but it's a free forum (and a good one) and many new posters have little knowledge of traditional Internet etiquette. We were also greenhorns long ago and made mistakes. *;-) Now we also still make mistakes, but can claim senility. *;-)
Just sent you an E Mail on my thread before seeing this message. I would like to join everyone else in thanking you for your time over the last week or so to help me with my problems. Have a good break.
Mike
Still looking for that 48 hour day for you. ......b t w, THANK YOU FOR THE KNOWLEDGE THAT YOU HAVE SO WILLINGLY SHARED WITH ME, AND HAVE ALLOWED ME TO SOAK UP SOME OF YOUR KNOWLEDGE.
You have done a sterling job with this board - and yes I know from our email conversations that you too suffered from the same problems texruss and I had. The restrictive nature of the other forums is so much more conveniant for answering victims with these problems. Dell is in no way the only forum with this problem though.
Others - I can't come back to post here - not full time, I just dont have that time any more.
As one of the main teachers at Tomcoyote and now with my own forum cleaning this stuff, I do just not have the time.
If anyone is responding and finding a HJT log too difficult, point them to my forum - it is so new that it is small and new posts will not yet get missed.
Texruss is also an admin at that board, and although I know he has some real life problems at the moment, if he has time he will be around in TomCoyote, MalwareRemoval and the other anti-malware forums.
