loeunt.dll virus ?

Question

My laptop got virus called loeunt.dll in C:/WINDOWS location. I can not get rid of it...i even ran the Norton AntiVirus software, which moved to Quarantine and then delete failed. When i try to delete the 'loeunt.dll', i get the message 'It is being used by another user or program'. Though, i tried to delete the virus by clossing all the applications on my laptop.   I need help here in removing this virus.   Please help.

Go Here And download HijackThis

Save it in a convenient permanent folder such as C:\\HJT\\,

Create a folder on the C: drive called C:\HJT.
You can do this by going to My Computer (Windows key+e) then double click on C:
then right click and select New then Folder and name it HJT.
Then Move Hijackthis.exe into that folder

double click HijackThis.exe, and hit "Scan". When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log" button. Press that, save the log, Ctrl-A to Select All, and copy its contents.

Thanks for your reply. But you didn't say how to delete that loeunt.dll file?

newone02   The file you want to delete, you have given no path, location or run status. If the file is spyware/malware related it probably is not the only bad file. If you follow the instructions in my previous post, we will see if we can help you remove the infection.   If you just want instructions on how to delete that one file based on the information you've provided, I can't help you, deleting files based only on name is a risky idea   bamajim   Graduate of Malware Removal University
