Malwarebytes 3.0 *BETA*
Caveat: Emphasize this is a discussion of a **BETA** product.
The following information is excerpted from https://forums.malwarebytes.org/topic/190369-announcing-beta-of-malwarebytes-30-a-next-generation-antivirus-replacement/
Malwarebytes 3.0... is built to provide comprehensive protection against today’s threat landscape so that you can finally replace your traditional antivirus.
Our engineers have spent the last year building this product from the ground up and have combined our Anti-Malware, Anti-Exploit, Anti-Ransomware, Website Protection, and Remediation technologies all into a single product which we simply call “Malwarebytes.” And it scans your computer 3-4 times faster!
When we launch Malwarebytes 3.0, we are confident that you can finally replace your traditional antivirus, thanks to our innovative and layered approach to preventing malware infections using a healthy combination of proactive and signature-less technologies...
But rest assured, we will continue to support compatibility if you choose to use a third-party antivirus or other security software alongside Malwarebytes 3.0... We built Malwarebytes 3.0 to be compatible with all major antivirus software, even Windows Defender and Microsoft Security Essentials.
--------------------------
For users who already have Anti-Exploit or Anti-Ransomware installed, Malwarebytes 3.0 will automatically remove the old Anti-Malware, Anti-Exploit and Anti-Ransomware and upgrade them all to Malwarebytes 3.0.
Malwarebytes 3.0 supports all versions from Windows XP to the latest Windows 10. However, our Anti-Ransomware technology is only enabled on Windows 7 or higher.
--------------------------
For those who wish to monitor the ongoing progress/status of this product, please check out their forum https://forums.malwarebytes.org/forum/174-malwarebytes-30-beta/

Feeling as I do, and expecting that a multitude of others feel the same....that one product is not necessarily the best solution for comprehensive Internet security, I applaud their efforts that will allow we users to configure security products in the ways we deem to be the best for our unique situations.
Although Panda AV nags me every day to upgrade, I appreciate that it is installed and working, and simply close the little roll up. :emotion-1:

While MalwareBytes has offered some amazing products, I remain leery about the idea of "placing all my eggs in one basket": if malware somehow attacks the [entire] MalwareBytes product, it could effectively disable all of one's security. In contrast, with a layered-security approach using multiple vendors, a successful attack on [just] one component would leave the others intact and running.
At present, I am using their Anti-Malware and Anti-Exploit programs... and am happy with each. I have occasionally "tinkered" with their separate (beta) anti-rootkit program. But I have not tried their anti-ransomware at all.

I can't help recalling all the perfectly good programs and utilities over the years that did one thing really well, and went on to bloat themselves out of useful existence. Do we really want an all-singing, all-dancing security solution that replaces just about everything? I believe that is called a "security suite", something I've avoided without regret for years.
On the other hand, I'm also reminded of Henry Ford's "Model T" automobile. Ford resisted all attempts to "improve" on the original, and eventually lost its marketing position as top dog (for almost 20 years) to competitors.
I'll be following this story with interest.

I've beta tested the original MBAM, so I guess this latest iteration is worth a spin. MBAM 1.x has been "very good to me", to paraphrase SNL. We will see ...

Maybe I missed it, but will we be able to keep our lifetime paid "PRO" version?
Or would we have to purchase on a yearly renewal if we decide to go with this product?

It's my understanding that existing licenses will be honored.

Looks like MalwareBytes 3.0 (Anti-MALWARE, Anti-RANSOMEWARE, Anti-EXPLOIT) has now been released.

User Guide https://www.malwarebytes.com/support/guides/mbam/

=========================================================
The FREE version (which is what you're left with after a 14-dat trial period) offers an ON-DEMAND scanner that detects and removes malware/spyware and rootkits.
The PAID/PREMIUM version includes real-time protection (websites/malware, exploits, ransomware).
It's my understanding that updating/upgrading to MBAM 3.x will automatically uninstall existing MalwareBytes products (MBAM, MBAE, MBARW)... so unless you want to lose/replace these, be careful in accepting any offer to upgrade!
