Malwarebytes ?
Got a popup from Malwarebytes today saying an updated (free) version is available. I accepted the offer but then it said "all legacy Malwarebytes software will be removed" so I canceled the update.
Does that notice mean the (free) stand-alone Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit will be removed? I currently have MAE v1.12.1.68.
If I remember correctly, a while back when I installed a merged version of (free) Malwarebytes and MAE, I had lots of issues with my Win 7 (32-bit) PC and had to uninstall Malwarebytes completely, revert to an older version of Malwarebytes and reinstall the stand-alone MAE. Do not want to go through those hassles again...
Any insights?
Thanks!

Ron: Yes, EVERY TIME you INSTALL a new/updated version of MB 3.x , it will automatically UNinstall mbAE (as well as existing/older versions of anti-malware and anti-ransomware). Users of the FREE MB3, who use it "merely" for an on-demand scanner, can then re-install mbAE if desired.
Quite a nuisance... it would be nice if they could distinguish between the free & paid versions... or at least, offer users an option (during installation) to keep the separate mbAE INSTEAD OF installing v3's anti-exploit module.

@ky331 - Thanks for the explanation. What a royal pain in the neck. :Ick:
Guess I won't be updating MB any time soon, at least as long as they're still providing updated signature files for the version I'm running now.
I thought PCs were supposed to save time. Seems like they're taking a lot more care/feeding than should be necessary...
