Mcafee problems
Having an Inspiron 6000 for 3 weeks, with mcafee and windows XP.
Yesterday I got a virus which turned off my Mcafee, and made a 100 percent CPU usage, the reactiveted McAfee couldn't find anything, I checked with Adware whic hfoun some spywares and removed them, but the computer was still slow.
I checked it with Nod 32 wich also found several problems, but he computer was still really slow.
I made a system restore, but it did'nt solve the problem, the Cpu usage is 100 percent but when I check the problems at the task manager I couldn't find any which would run. I tried wit hthe Avas as well, but it could`t find anything
The question is is any of the viruses attacks the Mcafee, and if I uninstall it, does it solve the
problem ??
At hte moment the computer can't let me out on the net, and the CPU is still on 100 percent

Gergely,
I doubt that it is Mcafee doing this, it could be an infection
Open taskmanager - scroll through running processes - and see which program or programs are burning up the cpu you will be able to see the numbers in the cpu columb.
Write the names of those programs down i.e. lsass.exe, etc
highlight the program unless it is explorer.exe or taskmanger.exe (do this offline)
Rtclick - end process. see if your cpu unwinds.
This should get you operating to the point you can download
http://dsvs.org/5/HijackThis.exe
Save it in a convenient permanent folder such as C:\HJT\, double click HijackThis.exe, and hit "Scan".
When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log" button.
Press that, save the log, Ctrl-A to Select All, and copy its contents here.

Please do not be tempted to "fix" on your own. Hijackthis is a very powerful tool, if used incorrectly can cause system problems.

Hi!
The thing is that one of the problem shows any CPU activity, but the Cpu was on 100 percent, but when I switched off the Mcafee, the Cpu was fine. I ran an another antivirus program on it, which foun some more object, but now I don't have desktop at all when I turn up the PC, and I couldn't connect to the internet again.
I try to make another Dell recovery again, and start a pand viruscsan for tonight,
