omprakash,

As far as McAfee is concerned, they do have a support forum that might be able to help you.

Between you and me and the internet, there are many other virus protectors available that don't take up so much of your system resourses and are just or more effective.

I've had many problems with McAfee, same as yours. I tried unistalling it, then reinstalling it and it didn't work because I apparently had a corrupt registry key, that the removal tool didn't work. McAfee isn't worth it. The support forum doesn't help, and the people don't help much either. They all told me to do the same thing that didn't work. Instead, just download AVG Free Edition instead. Works better with less problems

I am soo over Dell! I received a bill in the mail for 78+ dollars for a subscription fee???  I have spent countless hours on the phone with reps from all over the world. Twice I have been told that this "subscription" has been cancelled and the account has been closed.  Today I finally received a call from Dell with someone who understands english better those those prior.  I spoke with a manager Christian about this account which is now $200+ and that I needed to pay ASAP!  I again explained to him how I have spoken to countless reps and this charge was supposed to be removed blah blah blah. He then insisted that I PAY for this fee!! For What I ask..his answer  "I dont know but you need to pay" What are you serious??  He then put another supervisor on the phone "Renee Russo" who has to be the rudest rep I think I have possible spoke to ever.  She refused to let me speak and said she would waive some of these late fees if I would pay today.  "FOR WHAT"  again I get the it doesn't matter you subscribed to something when you purchased your lap top 2 years ago and you Must pay!  She prided herself saying that this is ruining my credit and that it is NOT going away!!  I really am so frustrated... I am shaking!! Never in my life have I had to deal with such awful Customer Service.  Renee ended the call basically telling me that I will have to pay for this or I will just ruin my credit!  I am sooo upset with Dell and cannot say it enough!  To be told twice now that the account has been closed and all charges have been removed, about five hours wasted of My time talking with these reps and several emails and still I sit here with now $200+ bill from Dell.  This started in October of 09' here it is March 10'. I have a feeling this is never going away, what a disappointment.

whatzgoinon,

first, please be advised this is a "user-to-user" forum.

I will try to bring this thread to the attention of a dell liaison.

You posted this in a thread about McAfee?   is that what you're being billed for?  if so, it would seem the billing should come from McAfee itself, rather than Dell.

Have you contacted your credit card company to dispute (in writing) any charges which you believe were inappropriately applied?

Hopefully, you have more details concerning the cancellation and closing of your account:   the date of a phone conversation, the name of the person with whom you spoken, and ideally, a cancellation/reference number.   do NOT post these details in public... however, they could help the liaison who contacts you.

whatzgoingon,

Sorry you are having problems with your account.  Please contact me by selecting "contact" below, then select "start a conversation with Dell-Robert P" and I'll see what I can do.  Thanks.

Regards,
Robert

Omprakash

I had the same problem.

You need to contact Mcaffee with your dell order number

If you have set it up, there shlould be an email address associated with your account.

They need that too to verify that your claim is valid

Hope this helps
