Mcaffee security program
Hello. i am experiencing firewall problem in my Mcaffee program. On iniial screen, it shows firewall is on, but if I try to open setting, frewall is off and I can not change it. Also, I can not shedule for scan either... What do you think? Is that program needs to be fixed, or my computer is infected by virous?

Hi smileduck, and welcome to the Dell Community Forum.
Can you give us a bit more info:
- What is your operating system (XP/sp3, Vista, Windows 7/sp1 etc)? If you click on the Start button, and type winver.exe in the box, it should tell you this info.
- What is the exact name and version of the McAfee software you are using? Did it come pre-installed when you purchased this computer?
- Is this a problem only with the McAfee software, or do you have other problems with your PC?

Perhaps we can help if you can include more information.
Has that free subscription expired? Exactly what are the three items that you need to turn on? Is it McAfee, Windows Security Center, or something else that is giving you the warning?Buntywabbit

Hi I am also having same issue. I have windows 7 SP1, I had Macafee free for first year and when I click on the Macafee it says virus and spyware and firewall all active and computer up to date. However every time I switch on my laptop, I get a warning to "solve 3 importnant PC issues" in task bar bottom right, and tells me I need to turn on the above 3 items.
When I say yes to turning on the macafee ones it does not change anything and they remain off!
So am I protected or not? I am worried and confused!!
Please can you or anyone help?
