[ MOVED] system locked down after installing mcafee program.
I installed the McAfee Internet Security Program 1 month ago. After it was installed I started to have problems with the windows installer trying to install a program that had been removed years ago.I made several attempts to remove or stop the installation.I did the troubleshooting and was refered to the Dell web site. It directed me to remove and reinstall the program.Now I no longer have acess to the internet and other prograns. Following Dell's recomendations I keep getting a error message. Contacted McAfee they were not able to help could not acess or was denied any removal commands. NOTHING IS WORKING!!!!! How do I fix this problem?

I do not work for Dell, but as a forum volunteer I'll see if I can help.
Can you give us some additional details such as whether your computer is still under warranty and what the operating system is? What is the name of the program that you removed years ago that tried to reinstall?
Which program did you remove and reinstall -- McAfee? If so, when you removed McAfee, what procedure did you use to remove it? Lastly, did you try using System Restore to revert to before you installed McAfee Internet Security?I will be moving this topic to the Virus & Spyware Forum where we have regulars who are knowledgeable about McAfee's products.
