Sorry about that. Is this infection the cause of my computer crashing and not being able to get into normal mode? I can't even get into normal windows mode at this point, so I can only get you a log from safe mode. Thank you for the help.

You may be able to boot into Normal Windows arefter this step.
Here's the Avenger and HJT logs. I still cannot get into normal mode. It just goes to a blank screen. I am running the logs from the infected pc and then transferring them to my friend's pc with a USB drive. We have been running flash disinfector on the clean pc before inserting the flash drive. Is that needed? Can this infection transfer through a USB drive? Thanks again for your help. It is much appreciated.

My computer seems to be running well. No pop-ups, ads, etc. I haven't connected it back to the internet yet. Normal mode works.
In the add/remove in control panel there are two entries that relate to the hjt lines you want me to delete. They are mxlivemedia RON TOOL and the Searchersmart search enhancer. Should I remove these through add/remove? Sorry for all of the questions. Trying to learn through this process.

Everything is running well. No problems noted. I am connected to the internet and my pc is running faster than ever!!!!! My McAffee subscrition expired. I did not realize it was expired. I downloaded Avast! and uninstalled McAfee. I followed a tuturial on how to change antivirus that I found in another thread. I removed quite a few programs in the control panel. Yet another window will open type in todays date 05262008 (or what ever you would like to remind you of this Restore Point) in the Create a restore point window. Then Select Create. No problem. It will take a couple of runs at this to fix so please be patient.
If you are unable to use Normal Windows, then you can perform these steps in Safe Mode w/ Networking.
1. Please download The Avenger by Swandog46 to your Desktop.
2. Copy all the text contained in the bold below to your Clipboard by highlighting it and pressing (Ctrl+C):
Files to delete:
C:\Windows\system32\lusnpjtztxkzkux.dll
C:\Windows\system32\ojjwgzabxa.dll
C:\Windows\system32\SecCenter.exe
Note: the above code was created specifically for this user. If you are not this user, do NOT follow these directions as they could damage the workings of your system.
3. Now, start The Avenger program by clicking on its icon on your desktop.

Here's the Avenger and HJT logs. I still cannot get into normal mode. It just goes to a blank screen. I am running the logs from the infected pc and then transferring them to my friend's pc with a USB drive. We have been running flash disinfector on the clean pc before inserting the flash drive. Is that needed? Can this infection transfer through a USB drive? Thanks again for your help. It is much appreciated.

You may get an erro or 2 on reboot, don't worry about those, we will take care of them shortly. We are going to use Avenger again. And ater you run it, see if you can reboot into normal windows mode

2. Copy all the text contained in the bold below to your Clipboard by highlighting it and pressing (Ctrl+C):

My computer seems to be running well. No pop-ups, ads, etc. I haven't connected it back to the internet yet. Normal mode works.
In the add/remove in control panel there are two entries that relate to the hjt lines you want me to delete. They are mxlivemedia RON TOOL and the Searchersmart search enhancer. Should I remove these through add/remove? Sorry for all of the questions. Trying to learn through this process.

If those programs you found in Programs and Features are programs that you do not install or no longer use , then yes uninstall them.
Re Run MBAM and post the results, and you should be able to connect to the internet safely now.

When it rains it pours. My internet is down due to the weather (ice storm) so I was not able to use the most up to date MBAM defs. My buddy downloaded version1.31 and then the manual updates, but we kept getting an error trying to install the manual updates. I ran the scan anyway with the version 1.31. My isp said that the internet should be up and running sometime tonight. I will update and run another scan with the updated defs. This little TDSS driver/service that comes with AV2009 is quite a pest.

Everything is running well. No problems noted. I am connected to the internet and my pc is running faster than ever!!!!! My McAffee subscrition expired. I did not realize it was expired. I downloaded Avast! and uninstalled McAfee. I followed a tuturial on how to change antivirus that I found in another thread. I removed quite a few programs in the control panel. All of the toolbars, IM's, LimeWire, etc. I also updated Java.

Excellent work. Just a little clean up
1. Rerun Hijackthis (scan only) and place checks beside the following entries
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {02478D38-C3F9-4efb-9B51-7695ECA05670} - (no file)
Close all other open windows except Hijackthis and Select " Fix checked"
Close Hijackthis ->> Reboot your PC.
You may now remove/delete/uninstall the tools we used to clean your PC
Now that your log is clean

To create a Clean System Restore Point in Vista
The System restore Window will open. Select Open System Protection
Another window will open, Hilite The C:\ Drive in the window
Then Select Create. Yet another window will open type in todays date 05262008 (or what ever you would like to remind you of this Restore Point) in the Create a restore point window.
Then Select Create. Windows will then create a restore point.
Once done you will receive notification that a System Restore point has been Created.
Close all the open widows and you are done.
Update your Anti Virus Software
Use and maintain a Firewall
Visit Microsoft's Windows Update Site Frequently for critical updates
Backup your Important Documents and Files on a regular basis

i need your help too
i got the same probelm expcet when i clikc on system restore its all white and i don't see anything
here is the hijackthis information can you please help me out. i can use the internet but the computer software i can't. plus everytime i open my pictures or my computer it brings up search setting v1.2.3. i'm not sure what to do. also the error is spool drivers w32x86 3 dlcxtime.dll and here is the logfile
