Everything seems to be running fine. I am going to have my Niece come over and we'll unhook it from my router and have her test it with her Verizon Wireless access. 3. Close all Internet Explorer Windows and Run FakeAlertFix
Double click the fakealertfix.Zip file to unzip it. Open the FakeAlertFix Folder Double Click FakeAlertFix.vbe to run the program Then Select O.K. at the prompt Allow the program to run (Your desktop will disappear, then re-appear. This is normal) When it is finished it wil produce a log C:\FakeAlertFix.txt Copy and paste the results of that log in your reply
4. Then reboot your PC into Normal Windows Mode->> Rerun Hijackthis and post a fresh Hiajckthis log. As well as the C:\FakeAlertfix.txt log

The system is running much better. It was weird though, I started the scan and left for a while and when I came back it had closed Internet Explorer. I re-ran it and it completed. The log is very large, over 16 MB, mainly found tracking cookies. Should I still upload it?
I did have it delete infections. It was chugging away, hard drive thrashing. I left and when I came back it had rebooted.

Your Java is out of date. Older versions have vulnerabilities that malware can use to infect your system. Please follow these steps to remove older version Java components and update.
Updating Java:
Download the latest version of Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6.u4. Scroll down to where it says "The J2SE Runtime Environment (JRE) allows end-users to run Java applications". Click the " Download" button to the right. Check the box that says: " Accept License Agreement". The page will refresh. Click on the link to download Windows Offline Installation with or without Multi-language and save to your desktop. Close any programs you may have running - especially your web browser. Go to Start > Control Panel double-click on Add/Remove programs and remove all older versions of Java. Check any item with Java Runtime Environment (JRE or J2SE) in the name. Click the Remove or Change/Remove button. Repeat as many times as necessary to remove each Java versions. Reboot your computer once all Java components are removed. Then from your desktop double-click on jre-6u4-windowsi586-p.exe to install the newest version.

We will see what we can do.
1. Go HERE and download FakeAlertFix
Save it to your Desktop. But do not run it yet.

Click Next, then Install, then make sure "Run fixit" is checked and click Finish.
The fix will begin; follow the prompts.
You will be asked to reboot your computer; please do so.
Your system may take longer than usual to load; this is normal.
At the end of the fix, you may need to restart your computer again.
Finally, please post a fresh HijackThis log, along with the contents of the logfile C:\fixwareout\report.txt

You may now remove/delete/uninstall the tools we used to clean your PC

Disable and Enable System Restore

Your Java is out of date. Older versions have vulnerabilities that malware can use to infect your system.
Please follow these steps to remove older version Java components and update.
Updating Java:
Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6.u4.
Scroll down to where it says "The J2SE Runtime Environment (JRE) allows end-users to run Java applications".
Click the " Download" button to the right.
Check the box that says: " Accept License Agreement".
The page will refresh.
Click on the link to download Windows Offline Installation with or without Multi-language and save to your desktop.
Close any programs you may have running - especially your web browser.
Go to Start > Control Panel double-click on Add/Remove programs and remove all older versions of Java.
Check any item with Java Runtime Environment (JRE or J2SE) in the name.
Click the Remove or Change/Remove button.
Repeat as many times as necessary to remove each Java versions.
Reboot your computer once all Java components are removed.
Then from your desktop double-click on jre-6u4-windowsi586-p.exe to install the newest version.
