My computer is infected!

Probably clicked on the wrong site.  Immediatedly got a warning from NAV about possible virus which was blocked.  Next got a warning that a certain site was attempting to access the internet through my machine which I did not allow.  Then, in my taskbar I got a warning in a bubble:  "Your computer is infected!  Windows has detected spyware infection...click here to protect your computer from spyware!"  The warning pops up from a red dot with a white 'x' in it on my task bar.  Nothing happens when I click on the red dot or the bubble warning but the warning pops up every 15 seconds and disappears if I click on it.  Ran Defender and it said no spyware detected.  Ran NAV and it did fix one virus:  "time.class-63eb32e0...Downloader."  Any idea how I can get rid of that bubble warning coming from my taskbar every 15 seconds?

Hello.  Do not panic.  The popup message you are getting to remove a virus, is a malicious program.  Do not click on it!  Only act on messages from NAV.  If you have antispyware, run it.  Otherwise dowmload Sbybot Search and Destroy, (free) from www.spybot.com and run it.  In addition, download HijackThis from www.HijackThis.com, run it and post the log on the HijackThis forum.  Do not remove anything on your own!.  Activate your popupblocker.

Thanks for the quick response.  Since Defender says I have no spyward and NAV has apparently fixed the original virus, I decided to go the easy route and use system restore and I no longer have the pop up error message appearing.  That system restore feature has saved me more than once.
