My HTJ Log.

Hi. I've had this happen to me before (twice to be exact) and it has somehow gotten my computer to the point where it would basicly freeze on me just by getting to the log in screen. I've had to reset my computer to the bought date twice because of this and now it's happening again. The files I currently have on this account are important to me and I wouldn't want to lose them after all the other ones I have lost.

So thanks and I hope you can help me with this. I'll be idle a bit untill around maybe 4:00PM tommorow, so I'll just post this ahead of time and hope that someone will help me with it.

Thanks in advance.

P.S.- I've found some files that seemed to have appeared in my C: drive recently without me knowing it, and I wasn't able to delete it at first. Although, I was deleting other files that might have stopped me from deleting it, and eventually got them deleted. I also notice when I hit CNT + ALT + DELETE I see a certain process going on in the processes menu that I noticed had the same name of one of these files. Each time I restart my computer I am ending its process as well.

Don't know if that means much but I hope it helps.

Hi Michael T.

1. Download this file - combofix.exe
2. Double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
3. When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Post that log in your next reply

Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall

Send:

- a fresh HijackThis log
- combofix log

After I did that I got:

----------

Compaq_Owner - 06-08-24 16:31:55.76
ComboFix 06.08.24 - Running from: C:\sUBs

----------

I put that in my first message now.

Hi

Unfortunately that didn't work at all so we need other tools:

Please download Qoofix by Rubber Ducky to your desktop.

  • Right click on the Qoofix folder, and choose "Extract All". Extract Qoofix to your C: drive
  • Close all windows and programs, including internet windows.
  • Go to C:\Qoofix and open the folder, then double click on Qoofix.exe
  • Click Begin Removal and wait for the scan to finish
  • If Qoofix finds an infection, select yes to restart your computer
  • You will now find a log from this tool, located at C:\Qoofix\Qoofix Logfile.txt Copy and paste the contents of that report into your next reply here.

You have the latest version of VX2. Download L2mfix from one of these two locations:

http://www.atribune.org/downloads/l2mfix.exe
http://www.downloads.subratam.org/l2mfix.exe

Save the file to your desktop and double click l2mfix.exe. Click the Install button to extract the files and follow the prompts, then open the newly added l2mfix folder on your desktop. Double click l2mfix.bat and select option # 1 for Run Find Log by typing 1 and then pressing enter. This will scan your computer and it may appear nothing is happening, then, after a minute or 2, notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it into this thread.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run option #2 OR any other files in the l2mfix folder until you are asked to do so!

Send:

- a fresh HijackThis log
- C:\Qoofix\Qoofix Logfile.txt
- l2mfix log

I cannot exceed 20000 characters when making a post. It also complains about 'invalid HTML' too.

Should I zip and upload these then?

Close any programs you have open since this step requires a reboot.

From the l2mfix folder on your desktop, double click l2mfix.bat and select option # 2 for Run Fix by typing 2 and then pressing enter, then press any key to reboot your computer. After a reboot, your desktop and icons will appear, then disappear (this is normal). L2mfix will continue to scan your computer and when it's finished, notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it back into this thread, along with a new hijackthis log.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run any other files in the l2mfix folder until you are asked to do so!

Note : Once the pc has restarted if a log does not appear or the icons didn't dissappear, run the "second.bat" located inside the L2mfix folder.

Nothing came up for me to click ok. It showed a black window (command prompt, or something near it I guess) and closed it the second it showed up. Should I just continue?

(Also: I remember Duce6 being in the C: folder once without me putting it there. Should I be worried about that right now?)
