Ah yes, problems with McAfee. I've had McAfee for awhile and it has only caused problems. Many of us on the Virus/Spyware board recommend you totally uninstalling McAfee and going with a free anti-virus that works so much better. McAfee is worse than a virus, in my opinion. I run AVG Free Anti-Virus instead. As for your McAfee problem, there is no way to remove that pop-up, from what I've found out, but there should be a way to change when the scan happens. Not entirely sure, because I don't have McAfee anymore, but I believe there is a way and hopefully another user will know how and help you out.

This might help with the scheduled scan. I have McAfee VirusScan Plus 2007 and in my version if you open the security center, got to configure, then computer and files, then advanced, then schedule scan, there is a box that says enable scheduled scanning. Just uncheck the box and press apply. As for that message that you get, I don't know how to get rid of it, but you might want to look on the McAfee help site forums and post your question there. Or you could uninstall McAfee and use something else. Personally, I have been using McAfee since 2000 and I haven't really had any problems with it. I used to use Norton before that.
