Log looks OK.  You do have HijackThis set to run at boot so there will be a small delay while it does its thing.

Could be your hard drive has set itself to PIO mode.  This was common until SP2 and it's like driving a car around in first gear.

This is Microsoft's workaround from:

http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=817472

1.Double-click Administrative Tools, and then click Computer Management.2.Click System Tools, and then click Device Manager.3.Expand the IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers node.4.Double-click the controller for which you want to restore the typical DMA transfer mode.5.Click the Driver tab.6.Click Uninstall.

When the process completes, restart your computer. When Windows restarts, the hard disk controller is re-enumerated and the transfer mode is reset to the default value for each device that is connected to the controller.

Other possibilities are the RPC service is not running, Start, Run, cmd, OK to bring up a black CMD screen and type:

net start

(do you see Remote Procedure Call (RPC) in the output?)

Are you out of harddrive space?

The boot disk is the one most likely to be a problem.  This would be the Primary IDE controller and the Drive 0 under it.  If it says under Advanced Settings that Current Transfer Mode is Ultra DMA Mode then that's not the problem.  If it says PIO then you have found the problem.

If that's not it then right click on the clock and select Task Manager then Processes then click on  CPU (Usage) twice which should sort the processes by % of CPU.  Normally the top process should be System Idle with over 95%.  If that's not the case what are the top three processes?

Appears you are running 2 antivirus at the same time this might be a problem.  Try shutting down one of them and see if that makes a difference.

You can also boot into Safe Mode:  Shutdown and Restart and Boot into Safe Mode by tapping the F8 key when you see the PC maker's logo.
Keep tapping until it tells you it is going to Safe Mode or you see the Safe
Mode menu. Select the Safe Mode with Networking option.  If things are a lot faster here then go back run msconfig (Start,Run, msconfig, OK) and try turning off some of the  non-microsoft processes and startup entries and see if you can isolate it down to what the problem is.

Could be a memory problem or a failing harddrive.  Would not hurt to run memtest:

Also run checkdisk:

and maybe a defrag.

A few online scans:
