Can you give the exact text of the script error you are getting?
Also the operating system (XP, Vista, Windows 7)?
If you are referring to the Dell Support Center, be advised that many here think it a bit buggy, and have uninstalled it. It does nothing you can't do manually.
Thanks Joe. I seem to have htis issue resolved. My problem now is windows defender. It keeps trying to update and my computer says it can't find it???? I think someone t ried to uninstall it. It is 8007051a update. When I tried to download it again, I was told it comes with the Vista program, so it won't let me reinstall. Now what can I do. Don't really need it as I run another security program. How can I get rid of the constant update?
You never answered Joe's question about your OS, but since you wrote that you were told WD comes with Vista, I suppose your OS is W XP. Well you were told wrong. WD is for XP Sp2 and 3 genuine, Server 2003 Sp1 or later, and Vista.

ISScript.msi errors occur when the install Shield program update manager is corrupted or missing. Also when a program that you are trying to install needs Install Shield upgraded because yours may be out of date.

Hi Myrna and welcome to DeLL Forums.
You never answered Joe's question about your OS, but since you wrote that you were told WD comes with Vista, I suppose your OS is W XP. Well you were told wrong. WD is for XP Sp2 and 3 genuine, Server 2003 Sp1 or later, and Vista.
You can download it here:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/winfamily/defender/default.mspx
If you are having trouble installing or uninstalling (Only way to get rid of those constant updates), try to troubleshoot it. Follow these steps:

If still you can not solve the problem, ask for help in "Software & Operating System DeLL Forums" here:

hope it helps
