Security Centre Product Registration

I have bought a new dell 2400

When i boot the PC McAfee SecurityCenter opens and asks me to register.

I complete the form that opens (provide first & last names and email address)

It then tells me that the PC has already been registered for this offer.

I have spoken to McAfee support (online) who checked to see if the software was registered and said NO its not.

They suggested uninstalling the software with Add/Remove programs and reinstalling.

The same issue occurs !

HELP !!!!

I would ask them to check on two possibilities if they could:

1) Is there any registration for your e-mail address (without using the 'first name' + 'last name' as an additional lookup key)
2) Ask them how to obtain the product's unique id and see if any registration already exists for it.

Mike.

The answer to both those questions is - NO !

My email is not being used for any other McAfee products, and Ive also checked with a diffrent email address.

The product ID comes back as not registered

Did you find a fix for this problem? I have just purchased a new Dell Inspiron and I have exactly the same issue, I have uninstalled and reinstalled the McAfee but I am unable to complete the product registration - McAfee are now telling me its a dell problem.  I have also reinstalled my dell operating system and no joy!!

When you first got your system you probably registered with McAfee. If you have previously registered you should log in as a current user. So during the process it says register, instead of registering there is a link on the right that says something to the effect that you are previously registered. When you do this it sees your previous registration and picks up your subscription.
