You said you tried to reconfigure your firewall. Are you certain you have granted access to the printer communication request?
It may be that all you need to do is navigate your firewall settings and look for the log that shows your access/denial communication requests. I'm sure you answered wrong to one of the questions for access permission.
To make it easier if you find it difficult looking for your log permission/denials, perhaps you should consider uninstalling the software, then reinstalling...being careful to note each access request before answering.
