Slow computer -- please help!

Hi all,

For the past few weeks my computer has been running slow. Now it takes as long as two minutes to open Firefox, and opening Word files can be very sluggish.

I ran an antispyware program(NoAdware 5.0) and came up with nothing. I have Zonealarm and AVG antivirus running at all times.

Yesterday I followed the "slow computer" tips, removed excess programs, defragged, removed temp files, cut out window styles to cut back memory, all to no avail.

The computer has just been slow, nothing weird, until tonight;. A recent Gmail exchange just disappeared in front of my eyes. I didn't click on "delete" by accident and nothing was in Trash or in Archives. But that may be a Gmail quirk having nothing to do with this.

Anyway, after that happened I decided to run a hihackthis log. Any thoughts on this appreciated. Thanks,

Please disregard the stuff about gmail -- it turns out I accidentally pushed the "spam" button. I had thought it might be the computer behaving weirdly.

I would very much like to eliminate the possibility of malware causing this extreme slowing of my computer, and would be grateful if someone could examine  the hijackthis log I posted previously. Thanks.

I'm going to repost this as I think I erred in not putting "Hihackthis log" in the subject header.
