We need to temporarily disable the Real-time Protection on Windows Defender as it may interfere with the HijackThis fixes we make.
Open Windows Defender
Click Tools => Options
Scroll down and uncheck Use real-time protection (recommended).
Click Save
Close Windows Defender
After all of the fixes are complete it is very important that you enable Real-time Protection again.
Then disconnect from the internet.
Then Open Mcafee Security Center and turn off McAfee virusscan.
Return to Smitfraudifx Rt click and Extract all the archive content to your desktop Open the Smitfraud folder Double-click smitfraudfix.cmd Select 1 and hit Enter to create a report of the infected files. The report can be found at the root of the system drive, usually at C:\rapport.txt Open that file, Ctrl+A to copy, and post a copy of that log as a reply to this thread Do Not run option 2 until instructed to do so
Then turn Mcafee Virusscan back on, reconnect to the internet and post the results of the Smitfraudfix option 1
Here is the log from the SmitfraudFix report. Thank you for your time. I appreciate your help and will look for your next message for further instructions.

Click on the "Options" icon at the left side of the window, then click on "Advanced." deselect "Only delete files in Windows Temp folders older than 48 hours."
Click on the "Cleaner" icon on the left side of the window, then click Run Cleaner to run the program.

It does seem faster. I don't know yet about the odd messages. I got one earlier before the last reboot that was an application error. Everything seems to be working so far. I guess I'll repost if I get that message again I'll copy down the exact message and post it. Thank you for your help. Slow computers can be sooo annoying, and to think we used to think they were fast 10 years ago!!!
