Start off by removing newdotnet:
 
 
Then reboot and run another scan. 
 
These lines should be gone if newdotnet removed OK:

If you see these again then something is wrong with your CD writer install and you should uninstall it and try again.

Things seem to be better now but I will follow your advice on this other stuff.  It won't be until later today but I will post the new log when I'm done.

Make sure you have System Restore running (toggle it off and On today to get rid of any bad stuff it may have retained) and then you can just go back to an earlier time if you hit a bad site or something goes wrong.  http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/helpandsupport/learnmore/systemrestore.mspx
Close Internet Explorer and run HijackTHis then check and Fix Checked these lines:

I am not so sure about the F2 line.  I have been told that it should be OK but most logs do not have this line so I think there is something wrong.  IF by chance things don't work right afterwards you can run HijackThis and View the list of Backups then check it and Restore or use the last known good option to come back.
 
R1 is certainly bad.
O4 appears broken.
the two O6's may be OK and put there by some of your protective software but they could also be put there by malware.  It won't hurt to remove them in any case.
 
Download the Hoster from:
Unpack to your desktop and run it.  If you have green print at the top then just press Restore Original Hosts then OK. 
IF you have red print then press make Hosts Writeable first.
 

Get ccleaner from http://ccleaner.com.  Install it and run it, uncheck everything on the first page except the two entries
with Temporary and then Run Cleaner.
 
Reboot and make a new log and post it as a reply.  Are things working better now?
