Go here and download Hijackthis

http://dsvs.org/5/HijackThis.exe

Save it in a convenient permanent folder such as C:\\HJT\\, double click HijackThis.exe, and hit "Scan". When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log" button. Press that, save the log, Ctrl-A to Select All, and copy its contents here.At the link below

and let someone look at your log

Please do not be tempted to "fix" on your own. Hijackthis is a very powerful tool, if used incorrectly can cause system problems

It still won't do anything. It is getting to 99% and says copying then says Cannot Copy Access denied. And McAfee is popping up saying a virus has been detected and cleaned and has to delete hijack in order to clean it. McAfee says it is W32/Generic.worm!p2p

I'm going to give you one more tool which can be found at the link below

But before you do. I think that one of the antivirus programs my be causing a problem since we have 2 running.

So turn off McAfee virusscan before you attempt the download.

If you have any problems or questions please reply

mystic,

i see that you were eventually able to download/run HiJackThis, and post your log in the HJT forum.

the log shows that you had, and have removed, a vundo trojan.  Can I take that to mean you have already run VundoFix?   If so, has your popup problems stopped, after running VundoFix and rebooting?

also, if you've run vundoFix, I'd appreciate if you could post a copy of your VundoFix.txt  log, which should be located in your root directory, C:\

I ran vudo and then downloaded hijack this. So far I haven't had anything pop up.

I've got the same problem with this Security pop-up and have noticed the the explorer.exe process is consuming most of the CPU resources on the PC.  I can't find anything on the web that addresses this.
