Hi Texruss,    I don't know if this is a second posting or if the first one didn't go through.  Anyway thanks for your help.  I did as you asked for. I think it ran the clean up automatically since I just followed the prompts, and the wizard didn't ask me to run any programs.    Anyway I'm still a bit worried about the spy program since I had gotten two different alerts concerning it.  Is it possible that it won't show in the log?

If the update is installed, it will display in the list of currently installed programs
on your computer. To check that list:

On the taskbar at the bottom of your screen, click Start, and then click Control Panel.

If that entry is present, the update is installed
