Hi Aryeh,

Definitely there will be a conflict if you try to run or have two anti-spywares or two anti-virus softwares. Having only one anti-virus or anti-spyware is recommended.

Sorry but that advise is a load of bunk.

They work very well together.

BUT a replacement for spywareguard would be the teatimer function of spybot S&D - that is more comprehensive a running anti-malware program than spywareguard - also winpatrol is good for this too. - check out my articles - link below.

Teatimer.

Start spybot - change to advanced mode - left pane - tools - resident - ensute a check is in those two boxes - SDhelper (IE bad download blocker) and Teatimer (protections of over-all system settings)

It does a very similar function to winpatrol - so the two is overkill.

It does more than spywareguard - so use teatimer (or winpatrol) in place of spywarguard.

It is also advisable to have spywareblaster and ie-spyad installed - see my articles - link below - for links etc.

Thank you for that - I thought it was O.K. but wanted to double check..I also assume that there will not be a conflict with Norton Anti-Virus?

Could you explain where I find the teatimer function in Spybot S&D (1.3) as I can't find it in the index.

I do have Winpatrol - very useful.

Many thanks...aryeh

Thanks for your reply re Teatimer...it's now done.

I have SpyBlaster

Wouldn't it be great if we could get rid of all those 'creatures 'spying on & infecting  our computers. Then we could get with doing what we want on our machines instead of expendingso much time on security.

The status of that is so bad that we have two schools training experts to help others in forums like this. We are turning out about 10-20 a month (between the two school)

Any one with LOTS of time on thier hands (at least 2-3 hours a night) who like to help other people for free, try these links.

The schools are free - but it does take a long time to graduate. (typically 2-3 months before passing out to post to victims without any checks). Expert status takes about a 6-12 months.

===============================================
Have you thought of joining one of the anti-malware schools - two available with hundreds of people in training.

With both you need to register first, then follow the directions in those posts above
