Is that what was causing all of the problems at 1/26/2007
Time:  8:11:41 PM
with setup.exe?

You may have to use your cd burner software to get it on the CD.  If it comes as as an image to burn onto the CD then you actually tell the burner software you want to copy a CD then when it asks you where to copy from you point it at your saved file.

Do you have a floppy drive on your PC?  Might be easier with a floppy.

GMER didn't find anything but I am curious about one of your errors:

winmx.exe

Do Start, Search, For Files or Folders (under More Advanced Options check the top three boxes) then search for winmx.exe

Where does it find it?  Rightclick on the file and check the properties and see if it says who makes it and what date modified and size does it have.

I tried both cd and floppy and went in setup and changed boot sequence and it tells me to remove disk from drive and hit any key to restart but does not auto load like a bootable disk should . I don't know what the problem is with the memory test . I don't know what else to do.

The floppy should have worked. Since it didn't you probably need to go into the CMOS Setup and change the boot order so that the a: drive is at the top.

Windows can't open an OSI image but if it is disk copied to a CD then it should be able to read it.

You could try running the dell diagnostics program and see if it finds anything.

Or perhaps:

You said that games start dying more often the longer you are on.  Could be a heat problem.  Are your fans working OK?  Vents unblocked?

Start, Control Panel, Add/Remove Software and uninstall Macromedia or Adobe Flash.

When you get 100% CPU what are the top three CPU users as seen in the PRocesses tab of Task Manager?

It still finds nothing ...I tried to see if unhooking my cable modem changed the way my computer operated and it didn't . I don't know what to do . I am listing a bunch of the problems i am having so you can see if anything rings a bell ...if not i think i will just end up buying a computer and i think it won't be a dell this time. I have had so many problems with this comp it is rediculous. I was wondering though .......if my bios are infected reformatting will not affect anything so could that be it?
1. msn messenger logs in on it's own and when you right click it to close it comes back 10 min. later.
2.processor shows running full speed (100%) if you try to do more than one thing at a time and sometimes when you are only doing one thing.
3. antivirus / antispyware / and firewall turn on and off as they please.
4. internet pages will work on minute but not the next.
5.email will start up ....download new messages and the when you click on inbox it sits there for a while and then closes completely . then you have to reopen to click inbox again to read mail.
6.games that I have more than twice the system requirments for begin freezing up and freaking out the longer you play.
7.can not copy pics from my digital camera directly to a cd . says there i an error every time.
8. programs run slow or not at all depending on what t comp wants at th time.
9.sometimes you minimize a pogram and it closes completely.
10.keyboard types crazy sometime but it is a wireless and has probably just stopped working well .May or amy not be related.

I am ready to cry ..HELP
