svchost.exe

Question

I am currently running Windows XP, home ed, on my Dell Dimension 8400, and see 5 svchost.exe things running. A previous post said that it should only be running 4. I found the root file of these and they are C:\windows\system32 and c:\i386. I am concerned about the last one. Based on my info, which may be wrong, shouldn't svchost.exe only run out of system32 folder? Any help would be greatly appreciated! I use spybot, ad-aware, symantic, and ms beta are there additional spyware programs that I should be running?

There is no set amount of SVCHOST.EXE entries that should or should not be running at any given time.

That entirely is a different situation from computer to computer and what is being used on it at any given time.
