It definitely sounds like you have dozens of apps trying to load up at startup, thus the slow boot process. Go to run, type in msconfig, ok, then open the startup tab and check to see what is listed. Uncheck all items that appear questionable. If this gets mind boggling, just go to the boot.ini tab and select safe mode / network. Restart the computer when prompted and then check add /remove programs for evidence of spyware apps. Remove all unnecessary items. Go to
http://housecall.trendmicro.com and do an online scan.
usb flash drive or cd burner, system that has access to internet.
Download adaware and current definition files, and spybot and current definition files, and hijackthis.
Take media to problem system install adaware and spybot and update with definition files and run the programs.
Run hijackthis and get a log.
If the problem system will access the internet then, you can post the log from it, otherwise you will have to carry it on a diskette or flash drive to a computer that has internet access.
Post it in the hijackthis log forum for review.
