This is the first time I've had a problem like this so please bare with me.. Every time I attempt to download hijackthis from the link HijackThisInstructions I have 2 problems.
1. Error Copying File or Folder
Cannot copy HiJackThis[1]:Access is denied. Make sure the disk is not full or write protected and
that the file is not currently in use .
2. McAfee VirusScan
A virus has been detected and cleaned! The file C:/Documents and Settings\Brian Laskowski\Local settings... was infected by the W32/Generic.worm!p2p virus and has been deleted to complete the clean process.
Should I disable McAfee VirusScan, If so how, I'm at a loss!!!!
So I read through the FAQ's (lot's of help thanks), I was able to put HJT in a safe folder, went to the MajorGeeks & followed those instructions, I then loaded the trial of winzip, got all the way to the extract it and both warnings i mentioned earlier came up again??

Symantec calls it this one:
http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/trojan.desktophijack.html
If you can't sort it out with Norton then post a log in the Hijackthis forum here at Dell.
All the best,

Try running tools like Cleanup! in Safe Mode. Tap F8 while booting up and select Safe Mode.
