trojan,redirect and blue screen

hi i had a bad malware on my dell inspiron 1501 at christmas and thanks to this forum and bamajim it was sorted. since then ive put all my music and films on a exturnal hard drive and reinstalled vista and had no problems till today,

im really carefull with what ever i download and scan everything before i open it, but today at some point ive got my self a trojan, i done a quick scan with mcafee and it quarintined it but every so often my screen goes blue fuzzy with white bits in it,then turns off and comes on again on it own,and im also being redirected to a my space page on 60% of my google searches.

i then googled the problem and ended up downloading spyware doctor from PC tools.com, but this just tells me updates are not avalibale when i try to scan and wont work, when i scanned with mcafee it told me the name of the trojan but turnt off befor i could take note but it defo started with "ge" and im sure had a few numbers at the end, not very helpful i know,

ive run another scan but now its finding nothing sorry, ive attached my hjt log any ideas or advice would be great as ive been so careful and cant belive ive been done again.thanks in advance and here goes.i should add that when i installed mcafee i google about having to firewalls and disabled my windows one and every so often get a error message on boot up, is this normal?

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here or Here

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.
  • Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
  • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  • Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
  • The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  • Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  • When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.(See Extra Note)
  • The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
  • Copy&Paste the entire report in your next reply.

Extra Note:

If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts, click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process,if asked to restart the computer, please do so immediatly.

before i start can i just say thankyou for giving up your time for my stupidness again, you were a great help over christmas when you helped me out and i really appriate your help again.

ive downloaded MBAM from your first link which came straite up with a "run" box, i clicked this and proceeded to install the programme, i made sure when the finish box came up that "launch" and "update" were checked, but nothing happened, i then went to the desktop icon and double clicked it to open, i was then asked for permission which i gave and nothing happened, i waited 5 minutes and still nothing.

i then right clicked and on the list that came up i choose "run as adimistrator", i was then asked for permission, which i gave, then all i got was a pop up saying MBAM had stopped working and windows was checking for a solution and was closing the programme.

i then right clicked again and choose "open" and again once promped for permission nothing happened.

i then uninstalled MBAM and installed it via your second link, which took me to the "geek" site, the only differance being on the "finish" box in stead of the launch and update box's i was only given the options to restart the computer, which i done,

but here's my problem, when ever i try to shut down, the blue and white fuzzy screen appers and the computer turns off and on by its self, and i then get a black screen saying windows didn't shut down properly and to either start in safe mode or normally,

i choose normally and when my desk top appered the MBAM icon  was there, i then run in to all the same problems as listed above for the first link's install.

sorry for the trouble Bamajim,

No problem. You are most welcome.

Let's do this. If you have the older version of Filelister Delete it)

1. Go HERE and download File Lister.
  • Save it to your Desktop
  • Rt Click ->> Extract all ->> And extract it to your Desktop
  • Additional help on extracting zip files can be found HERE
  • Open the File Lister Folder.
  • Note: Leave the FileLister.vbe file in the folder and run it from there.
  • Rt Click FileLister.vbe ->>Select Open Then Open to confirm.
  • As the program runs, it will appear that nothing is happening.
  • When the program is fnished it will produce a log for you C:\Files.txt

Copy and paste the contents of that log in your reply.

sorry about the delay in getting back to you,my laptops running very very slow, ive done all as asked 3 times and every time i get a box at the end of the scan that reads "can not find C:\Files.txt file" "would you like to create a new one".

when i select yes a blue box appiers thats headed "C:\Windows\Systems32\cmd.exe" and in the blue it says "running"  and i also get a box headed "untitled notepad" which is empty.after a while this just repeats.

As i said ive done this 3 times and on the 4th i deleated every thing and downloaded "filelister" again in case i was missing something or doing it wrong but still the same thing happens.in the folder a txt document appers which is headed "Hidden" and below is all thats in it when opened.

C:\hiberfil.sys
C:\IO.SYS
C:\MSDOS.SYS
C:\pagefile.sys

Make sure you are logged in as Aministrator.

In the new FileLister Folder there shold be 3 files FileLister.vbe, svcwht.dat and DNS2.bat. If they are all there then proceed to the next step.

1. Disable McAfee (turn off the activescan) Then Rerun FileLister.

2. If that still doesn't work, then boot into Safe Mode with McAfee disabled, and run it from there.

sorry about the long delay on my reply, work commiments have held me up.

ive uninstalled McAfee totally and done as directed and im afraid to say still no joy, ive tried booting in safe mode, safe mode with networking and also safe mode with command prompt, and every time i get the black screen with the white writing sayin what drivers are loading and as soon as it gets to "LOADED:\Windows\System32\Drivers\crcdisk.sys it freezes, ive waited on each one for up to 10 minutes, as it still say's loading in the bottom corner but nothing ever happens.

Ive also deleated MBAM and Filelister and reinstalled them and tried all the ways ive listed in previous replys to get them working and still nothing good to report, i also tried running Filelister after deleating the "rar" folder and just leaving the open folder but still the same.

since i got rid of McAfee my windows secruity centre has turned its self back on and i was wondering if i should disable this and try your last instruction as im not sure if i should be running without any secruity at all so thought id sek advice first.

the blue screen and redirects seem to have stopped for now and i done a scan with windows defender but that found nothing but im sure theres still traces of the trojan,

also would it be better if i just reinstalled windows using my reinstallation disk, i cant use the restore point as i know this dont work as i tried it befor i last used the disk, when i press F8 on boot and choose repair computer, nothing happens,

sorry about all this trouble Bamajim, i know you must be busy.

If the boot up hangs on that file, then there is something wrong with the wireless card driver.

Have you recently performed an Microsoft OS update?

yes, i performed updates between 4 and 6 weeks ago, my laptop was slow so i went on the hardware forum to get advice on a reinstell, i was given some instructions on how to do it and where to find the list of things on my computer that have to be there afterwards,

once the install was done there was about 20% of things missing, i was then advised to run my dionognists disk and get the rest from updates on the dell site in a certain order, which i done,

i cant remember the acthual instructions but might have some notes somewhere, which ill look for now.

Lets see if we can do this another way

1. Rerun Hijackthis (scan only) and place checks beside the following entries
  • O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{754ABB57-CDC7-455E-A843-0B4421040EC9}: NameServer = 85.255.112.115,85.255.112.205
    O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{F5DCC497-10B9-43B2-B319-5DF35403FCA2}: NameServer = 85.255.112.115,85.255.112.205
    O17 - HKLM\System\CS1\Services\Tcpip\Parameters: NameServer = 85.255.112.115,85.255.112.205
    O17 - HKLM\System\CS1\Services\Tcpip\..\{754ABB57-CDC7-455E-A843-0B4421040EC9}: NameServer = 85.255.112.115,85.255.112.205
    O17 - HKLM\System\CS2\Services\Tcpip\Parameters: NameServer = 85.255.112.115,85.255.112.205
    O17 - HKLM\System\CS2\Services\Tcpip\..\{754ABB57-CDC7-455E-A843-0B4421040EC9}: NameServer = 85.255.112.115,85.255.112.205
    O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\Parameters: NameServer = 85.255.112.115,85.255.112.205

Close all other open windows except Hijackthis and Select " Fix checked"

Close Hijackthis ->> Reboot your PC ->> Rerun Hijackthis and post a fresh Hijackthis log

Lets see if you can get SP1 for Vista HERE.

If successful, it may reload the driver we need

Using Windows Explorer, Locate the file

C:\ntbootlog.txt

If found, delete it.

Close Windows Explorer.

Click Start->> Run ->> type in msconfig ->> O.K.

Under the Boot tab, place a check in the box beside /BOOTLOG

Select Apply ->> O.K.

Reboot your PC into Normal Windows mode. Then using windows explorer again locate the new C:\ntbootlog.txt file

Open that file and copy and past the results.

Bamajim

hope your good, below is what i think you requested, i couldn't find the log first time, so i followed your instructions about "msconfig" and found a log titled "ntbtlog" after reboot, which is below, but i thought id add that in "msconfig" under the general tab out of the three boot options its the "selective startup" thats got a dot in the box and under it sub headings "load system services" and "load start up items" are both checked and "use orignal boot configuration" is not. dont know if this is any help to you but it just seemed like something i should add. Also my shutdown botton that comes up when i click the start botton has got the updates sign, should i be installing these or is it best not to just yet.

I'm well thanks for asking

That's what I was looking for.

1. Please download The Avenger by Swandog46 to your Desktop.
  • Click on Avenger.zip to open the file
  • Extract avenger.exe to your desktop(How to extract (decompress) zipped or compressed files, help in the link here: )

2. Now, start The Avenger program by clicking on its icon on your desktop.
  • Make sure the "Scan for Rootkits" box is checked
  • Select Execute
  • You will be prompted "No Script loaded, do ytou want to scan for rootkits."
  • Select Yes
  • Answer Yes When prompted to reboot

3. The Avenger will automatically do the following:
  • It will Restart your computer.
  • On reboot, it will briefly open a black command window on your desktop, this is normal.
  • After the restart, it creates a log file that should open with the results of Avenger’s actions. This log file will be located at C:\avenger.txt
  • The Avenger will also have backed up all the files, etc., that you asked it to delete, and will have zipped them and moved the zip archives to C:\avenger\backup.zip.

4. Please copy/paste the content of c:\avenger.txt into your reply.
