Who knows what it's going to take to stop this? It may require major changes to the way UEFI works and gets updated/modified, new tools to detect this malware, etc...
Bottom line: Always be cautious about clicking links, about opening email attachments, etc, etc...
@benrf - Somebody has to develop a reliable fix first and then create updated versions of BIOS and thoroughly test them before they can be released for general use.
Since BIOS is for specific each PC model, lots of different BIOS have to be created and tested, and probably only for those PC models that aren't already beyond "end of life".
And who knows if the same fix will work for all those PCs that are still being supported?

The last bios update is from June last year for Dell 3020.
Is this not a very serious problem why cannot we get
any remedy to it?

No help yet. There are new similar problems more by now.
Why is there no remedy so far? Should I abandon all my Dell computers?
