Update your flash at macromedia.com.

If you have IE, you can use Spyware Blaster to disable flash. (shockwave, etc)

many webpages use Flash (Shockware, or Java) in order to display properly...  personally, i believe Flash and Java are essential tools.... and Shockwave is a useful tool.   but that decision, of course, is yours.

I am not familiar with what Flash does, and I am not opposed to having it on my computer.  I am afraid that this ad is some sort of a virus.  I have checked with the Macromedia site and they list Flash version 8.  I can't find any info on Flash 6+.  Since I can't find info, I think it is a fictious software package.  This ad just superimposed itself on one of the objects on my homepage and there is no "x" button for closing the ad.

8 is the latest, so that would work. The ad is suggesting 6, because it may be the least it can work with.

As long as you use  good anti-virus and anti-spyware programs, and scan regularly, you should be fine.
