Has anyone enabled DNS Lookup over HTTPS in Firefox? How's the performance?
One of the previous, recent, Firefox updates claimed that pages would load faster than ever before. I'm seeing the opposite. Pages are loading more slowly. I have a high-speed FIOS connection so that's not where the delay is happening. And sometimes when a page loads it's totally unformatted. I have to click "reload" to see the page in full HTML
I like the idea of DNS over HTTPS but since only two DNS service providers are currently available through FF, I wonder if that will make performance even slower than it is now - at least for me.
Specs: i7-9700 CPU, Win 10 Pro, 64-bit, with 512 GB SSD boot drive and 16 GB of RAM.

Ron,
I have NOT implemented DNS over HTTPS in FF (nor other browsers), so I can't comment on speed/performance degradation.
My reason for not using it is that my preferred DNS is OpenDNS's Family Shield. As you noted, it's not among FF's two available choices. And while perhaps "basic" OpenDNS might be available as a customized option, I don't believe the Family Shield version is. Family Shield automatically blocks malware, phishing, and adult websites --- my choice to do so --- I believe this offers me some great extra protection.
