Viewpoint Media Player is a graphics add-on, that you probably obtained when installing AOL, AIM (AOL Instant Messenger), Netscape 7, or Adobe Atmosphere.  Most people consider this Spyware, in that the people who installed these other products didn't realize ViewPoint would be included with them.   It may be removed by going to the Control Panel, and clicking on Add/Remove Programs, then ViewPoint Media Player (Remove).  However, in doing so, the application that originally installed it may not function fully anymore... for example, it it my understanding that ViewPoint player is needed to play certain games on AOL, in which case, those particular games will no longer work.  But if you don't play them, you should be okay.
