Virus Help Norton not enabled

after I start up my computer, I start getting error messages that says my computer is at risk because Norton is not enabled.  Every time I try and enable Norton is turns itself off and I can't download any updates, I'm using anti-virus 2004, I ran a virus scan, found a lot of adware and then I found this and was wondering if this is the problem and how I correct it, it gave me an alert about the following file  C:\Program Files\Norton AntiVirus\Quarantine\Incoming\APO is infected with MHTMLRRedir.Exploit

The file you found is in quarantine folder... It means that it is already disinfected and it is not harmful to your system. But if you still feel like your machine is infected please read and go through  HijackThis tutorial and take a look at your HijackThis log or paste it in HijackThis forum and some expert will take a look at it.
