VIRUS!!! HELP WHAT CAN I DO??
I have recently logged onto my computer and found that i have a couple virus's onto my computer. Soon many virus cleaners popped on to the screen. However, to get it fixed you have to give a credit card number and now that there is a virus I dont feel comfortable giving that information. Is there anyone or any program that is not too expensive that will fix the problem and let me still use my computer and its programs?
Can anyone give me some advise please????
THANKS WOLVERINE!!!

DO NOT even think giving your credit card number!! The outfit that wants your money is causing the pop ups and either gave you some viruses, or more likely, is giving you a false positive saying that your computer is infected with them. What do you have in the way of a firewall and/or antivirus program running now...if any?
You might head on over to the High Jack This forum and download the program and run a scan to see what you are indeed infected with.

Click on Do a System Scan and Save a LogFile
This will automatically open NotePad
Copy the entire file from NotePad: EDIT/SelectAll, EDIT/Copy
Then go to the new forum dedicated for HiJack This logs (**NOT** back here), and PASTE the results there:

Be sure to include a detailed description of any problems/errors/warnings you are encountering.
Hopefully, one of the HJT experts will get to it as quickly as possible.

some forms of malware are "smart" enough (maybe we should say, "devious" enough) to "block" other programs it "knows" can be used to defeat it. other than making this general assertion, i can't say anything more definitive about your situation. so i will try to call this thread to attention of some other people, who might have a better grasp of what's happening...
please clarify for us: the error message that you listed, "could not create operation cancelled,"...
you received this message when you were trying to download hijackthis_sfx.exe ?
or after successfully downloading it, you got the error when you tried to RUN hijackthis_sfx.exe ?
or after successfully unzipping/extracting the file HiJackThis.exe, you got the error when you tried to RUN HiJackThis.exe ?

Perchance, the web site you are directed toward is not Spyware Strike is it? There is a rising number of infections from this malware and as of today, there is not a program that will clean it. It has to be done manually. Just wondering what software you are prompted to purchase? And never but NEVER disclose your credit card number in any situation where you are prompted through pop ups and nagware to enter a number.

Yes it is a spyware strike!! IT first wanted me to purchase a antispyware program however, now it is trying to give it to me for free!! Yeah, I know pretty tricky, but I am not falling for it. How do I manually get it off of my computer? I have gotten rid of everything else I think except one or 2 viruses! Cuz it still says every 2 seconds (your computer is infected protect your computer by downloading this program)!! SO yeah now what do I do to fix my problem???
Thanks WOLVERINE!

A bit tricky since you have to manually do the steps such as edit the registry and delete files. The first site will give you some info but go to the second site for the instructions. Print them out and follow them exactly. I actually found that I had to delete the files and folders first then edit the registry. And for the file wiatwain.dll, I had to boot into a DOS command window and delete it. You might be able to in safe mode. Uninstalling spyware strike does nothing, only a manual removal works at this point.

PS
It is a nasty one this time around. Do a google search and there is a ton of information and posts regarding this Trojan.
