Virus scan problems

I have a 8300 which is about 90 days old.

I had the McAfee package which did not work on my system after many calls/emails to Dell and McAfee support.

I deleted McAfee and purchased Norton. 

I ran the virus scan and the program found some infected files and deleted them.  The program indicates there may be additional infected files.  What do I do with these files?  The program does not prompt me to do anything. 

I still think my system is infected as I cannot type when I am on the internet.

One suggestion I have had is to run virus scan in Safe Mode.
