Weird Robo Call

Some time yesterday, got a call with woman's robo-voice saying my Microsoft license had expired, but both computers are up today and happily running. It gave an 800 number which I did not call. Just wondering if anyone else has received this or a similar call?

What/which "Microsoft License" was she/it referring to?    A Windows license doesn't "expire"... it may reach a time of non-support (but that is not renewable).   If you had a subscription to certain time-limited products (perhaps Office 365 ???), THAT could expire.

In all likelihood, it was a phishing attempt to get you to pay for something you don't even have... and in a worst-case scenario, to place additional fraudulent charges on any credit card offered as method of payment.

Since you didn't return the call, you should be just fine.   I wouldn't worry about it any further.

It's just a scam! I've gotten exactly that same call...

Just ignore those idiots and you'll be fine. :emotion-5:

What is even weirder is that I just got back from our community garden and turned on the computer...the older one with Vista. Instead of starting I got a Blue Screen. and I momentarily thought "oh no, maybe she was right"!

But I did a normal restart and it appears to be fine, as my sanity quickly returned!
