I have used Trend Micro Internet Security for the past few years and am very pleased with it. I have always purchased Trend Micro on eBay. Lots cheaper and, with the 3 user option, I can load it on my wife's puter, mine---then mail it to my son for him to load on his computer.

Try eBay and save even more.

personally , i would be wary of purchasing security software from anywhere but the vendor or vendor approved distributors

I'm currently in the middle of back and forth email with Trend asking them why I should pay $30 more.  Unfortunately, it seems their support staff is incompetent and I cannot get a straight answer.  If I do, I will report back to you.

Why don't you remove TM, and install free security software? Anti-virus programs are included in the list at the top of this forum.

We have free software at work  (AVG) and I hate it.   I've always liked TM, so I wanted to stick with it.

Have you tried Avast?

Well I got an answer......they said there is no difference between the $49 version and the $79 version (which is only for Dell computers), except for the fact that they have a separate support center for Dell users.  I told him that makes no difference to me.  After a lengthy conversation with the rep, I have decided to dump Trend - way to frustrating.

Thanks Zoemae. Appreciate the effort you went through & letting me know the result. That's really quite a ripoff to think people will just "click" renew get charged $30. more if they aren't paying attention. I think I will also look into the Avast one person suggested. Thanks again.
