Windows Explorer, Data Execution Prevention

I installed new Norton SystemWorks.  Now Microsoft automatically closes Windows Explorer.  I have a message which says to check for Data Execution Prevention, which I have.  It says that I need to get compatible version of the program (Windows Explorer) from the software publisher.  I can't find a place on Microsoft's site which discusses this.  It only refers me to Dell, and Dell's site does not offer free technical support to me.  (I am running Windows XP Service Pack 2.)  Suggestions?

just a thought.... the recent/April critical windows updates included an update for windows explorer... have you installed all the April [as well as any prior] critical updates???

in internet explorer, click on Tools, Windows Update.

that aside, i'm not sure what else to suggest... i was under the impression that Windows Explorer had to be running continuously... didn't know it could be closed down...
