Windows Update problems/HJT log

Question

I started having problems about a week ago.  I keep getting the icon in my taskbar for windows updates and it states that I have updates ready to be installed but when I tell it to go ahead, it creeps on for a while and finally tells me they could not be installed (there are about 7 or 8 supposed updates).  While this is going on, my computer is painfully slow and my internet connectivity either slows or stops.  I have also noticed that when I hover over my connectivity icon the network has changed from 'Jami' to 'Access Point' and I have no idea what that is.  Anyone who may could help with this would be greatly appreciated as I'm sure it has to be a virus or something that my virus scan is not picking up.  Thanks in advance!
