\windows\system32'config\system - Error message
Received this message after Ad Aware scan froze the system up, so manually shut it down. I tried the repair option shown, but did not work. Any Ideas?? All I get from tech support is to call a # & pay through the nose.

I fixed it like this:
Reboot the computer, and while it is booting windows hit f8 to get the last known good menu.
Select the last known good configuration and boot that.
Once it boots do a system restore to your last restore point.

Found the link to the reply in my mail a while back. It did not do anything but to go in a loop, XP splash screen - one or two bars across the bottom & the error message again.
So I tried the F2 option, found the drives were not being recognized.
Tried the F12 option for boot sequence, found the drives were turned off.
Still stuck. Any ideas? Someone said I may need to install another hard drive. I have a spare, by luck. May try that method as I'm dead in the water and need to access some of the information in he system.
