i've found that sysupd.exe is a beast to remove. A few forums mention that you should:
use hijackthis to fix all entries that mention the file, reboot in safe mode and delete the files reboot again, rescan with hjt and it should be gone. To my knowledge it doesnt have a name, dont even know if it's a trojan or not, but it seems to be common.
thanks for helping me here is my new hijack logHijackThis v1.97.7 Scan saved at 6:17:14 PM, on 5/29/2004 Platform: Windows XP SP1 (WinNT 5.01.2600) MSIE: Internet Explorer v6.00 SP1 (6.00.2800.1106)

Still a couple...
Run Hijackthis...scan and check:
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {0494D0D1-F8E0-41ad-92A3-14154ECE70AC} - C:\Program Files\MyWay\myBar\1.bin\MYBAR.DLL
O3 - Toolbar: &SearchBar - {0494D0D9-F8E0-41ad-92A3-14154ECE70AC} - C:\Program Files\MyWay\myBar\1.bin\MYBAR.DLL
With no other windows open click on fix checked button in Hijackthis.
Reboot to SAFE MODE and Show HIDDEN FILES and folders (a MUST)
FAQ 8 and 9 on this page: http://www.russelltexas.com/spywareinfo/faqhijackthis.htm
Open Windows Explorer: type the word explorer at Start/Run box and click OK:
Drill on down and delete the following folder:
C:\Program Files\MyWay
Reboot in normal mode Windows and run Disk Cleaner: type cleanmgr at Start/Run. Scan all hard drives and check all categories at the end and click OK.
Browse a bit, then post a fresh log.
