When you do so, either HJT will not create its log files and backup files; or if it does, you risk losing them when the TEMP's cache is cleared. It's important that you save these backup files, in case you have to "undo" [restore] some of the things you "FIX" incorrectly.
So you need to move HJT into a separate, non-temporary, non-Desktop, directory of its own. We recommend using the directory C:\HJT , so that it will then appear in your log, under running processes, as C:\HJT\HiJackThis.exe
UnZip it ... it will create a folder a folder of its own (a
RegSeeker folder) containing a bunch of files.
Restart your computer and boot into
SAFE Mode...
if SAFE mode allows to you specify a
user/login, then log-in with your usual login name.
Hopefully, you'll still be able to locate the RegSeeker folder in SAFE mode.
Go there, and open/run the
RegSeeker program.
Click-on
Find in Registry...
then place a
check-mark in
all of the
HKEY options
and where it asks about
search for , you should type in [or
copy from here and
paste it there]:
NI.UWFX5_0001_N56M0311
and click on
SEARCH.
When it finishes, click-on
Select ALL... which expands into a small menu from which you need to
again choose
Select ALL (you should notice some changes in color, as the items found are highlighted).
right click on the highlighted selections and choose
Delete Selected Items.
Reboot into regular mode, generate another HJT log, and hopefully, it should be gone this time. Please

However, I tried to run the "RegEdit" function and did a search and found WinFixer in HKEY_USERS folder, S-1-5-21-1244592536-2995467840-3964455143-1005 folder, Search Assistant Folder, ACMru folder , 5603 folder. They are 001 and 002 with type called REG-SZ and they are listed as winfixer and win fixer data.

when he arrives, he'll also analyze your log for additional problem, IF ANY, that you might have.
While waiting for him, you can do the following minor touch-ups [concerning non-existent files]:
Run HiJackThis. Place a check-mark in the box in front of each of the lines:
I have followed your instructions and after running FIX CHECKED, it seems that the "non-existent files" are removed. However, Winfixer still shows in the registry. Below is a new log for you to analyse.

Log is clean so I think we are probably OK as far as WinFixer goes. It's common to have a few remnants in the registry. You can remove them if you want.

Make sure you have System Restore running (toggle it off and On today to get rid of any bad stuff it may have retained) and then you can just go back to an earlier time if you hit a bad site. One way to make this more obvious is to check everything in your current HijackThis and Add to Ignore List then set up Hijackthis to run at boot and to show you if it finds anything new.

Dear KY331,
I have followed your instructions and after running FIX CHECKED, it seems that the "non-existent files" are removed. However, Winfixer still shows in the registry. Below is a new log for you to analyse.
