wmiprvse.exe application errors
For the past 2 weeks or so I have been getting pop up error messages, most from wmiprvse.exe and all I can do is terminate program. I have tried virus scans, registry cleaners, in regular startup mode and safe mode, and nothing has changed. I run windows XP on an Inspiron 1501. I also get wuauclt.exe, scvhost.exe and other exe application error messages. And I cannot load a new Microsoft 3000XL webcam, and I assume because of this problem. any thoughts?

That sounds more like an operating system problem. Try posting on the Microsoft Operating Systems Forum. They may be able to help you there.
