Go to SolutionVADP Proxy
Hi all,
I'm having some trouble in backing up some virtual machines.
I configured VADP proxy, which is the storage node of the virtual machine. I correctly backup up 2 of 3 virtual machine.
The 2, that everything run correctly, can ping the VADP proxy. The one that fail no.
This is the only difference, there's no difference in configuration.
The error that returns the command 'savegrp -p -vvvv -c xittor16apcp120 -G TestVADP' is:
39076:savegrp: SYSTEM warning: Reverse DNS lookup failed for XITTOR16APCP120: No such host is known.
32452:savegrp: Host 'XITTOR16APCP120' in group 'TestVADP' is unknown
I think it's a little bit strange that the backup fails because there's no connectivity between host and proxy, but this is the only one difference.
Any idea?
Thanks for help.

I've had the same problem on a vmachine that was shutdown:
Host 'xxx' in group 'yyy' is unknown
The client is configured with *FULL* saveset and virtual client option / Proxy Backup
Check if there is correctly configured DNS forward and reverse lookup.
After I've done this the backup worked fine!
